This is Sophie from Punta Cana. She is 6 years old now. She was hit by a car in punta Cana when I was there volunteering for a spay/neuter event for the island dogs. We did 404 animals in 4 days!
Sophie was a feral island dog who was hit by a car. There was no way I was going to let her go back on the street with a broken shoulder. The team helped me get her a vet check and a plane ticket and basically a passport to come back to the states with me. She has saved my life now on a few occasions when I stopped breathing. She is so special. But she is nothing like American dogs. We have a very unique trust in each other.
